Family & supervision policy
Version 1 · October 30, 2026
Family connections
A family label is a connection between friends. Each person confirms a new label. A label such as Parent, Child or Cousin does not itself grant access to another account.
Approved supervision
Family Center links are a separate approval process for teen accounts. A teen can have up to two approved guardians. A guardian can be linked to more than one child; approval for one child never grants access to another. Teen confirmation and the site's guardian-verification and approval steps still apply.
Friendships
Linking guardians to the same child does not make the guardians friends. A parent may choose to send a friend request to the child. Ending supervision does not automatically end an existing friendship.
Reviewing activity
An approved guardian can review the linked teen's activity through Family Center after completing the required verification. Review is read-only. The teen receives a notification when a guardian opens an activity reader. The family indicator identifies the currently linked children or guardians. Guardian access ends at 18 and is checked again on every request.
Ending a link
A guardian can request withdrawal in Family Center. When two guardians are linked, the other guardian must agree. If the main guardian leaves, the remaining approved guardian becomes main. If the only guardian leaves, the teen's social access is restricted until a new link is approved.
