Contact and conversations
Your contact settings control messages from non-friends. Blocking prevents contact between the accounts. Supervised teens can message approved friends while their account is active.
Treat people with respect. Do not send threats, harassment, scams, sexual content involving minors, or another person's private information without permission.
Deleting messages
Either participant can delete a message for the conversation. It stays visible, marked for deletion, for seven days. Only the person who requested deletion can restore it during that time. At the deadline, it becomes unavailable and is removed from the live server by cleanup.
Delete permanently hides a message immediately for both participants. For an adult-only conversation, its content is removed immediately from the live database. When a teen is involved, a review copy remains available only to the teen's currently approved guardians until the original seven-day deadline. Permanent deletion does not extend that deadline.
Supervised accounts
Up to two approved guardians can review a linked teen's sent and received messages in Family Center. They cannot send messages as the teen or open unrelated conversations. Access is checked again on each request. The teen receives a notification when a guardian opens their account activity. Access ends when the approved link ends or the teen turns 18.
Copies
Another participant may have kept a copy or downloaded an export. Live-server deletion does not remove copies held by other people. Server backups follow the operator's separate backup-retention schedule.
